East Lancashire Hospice – Corporate Challenge

October 9th 2018

At Heritage we are proud to support the local community, whether that is jobs, sponsorship of local events or fund raising for local charities. We have recently completed the East Lancs. Hospice Corporate Challenge, an event involving local businesses competing to raise money for the East Lancashire Hospice in Blackburn.

The final winner has yet to be announced so fingers crossed but what is most important is we are delighted and proud of employees of Heritage and everyone who has supported them, including friends, family and suppliers to raise approx. £7,000. Thanks and appreciation to Daniel Bolton – Director of Commercial Operations who co-ordinated the bid and above all, a massive THANK YOU to Heritage employees who have been very busy over recent months including the company raffle organised by Dan himself, Matthew’s 10K run, Accounts Dept. Tuck-Shop and Caroline’s cake baking and the name the Build-a-Bear kindly donated by Julie Furguson. Several departments sold various tote cards. Lee Boyle put himself under Pete Edwards clippers for his sponsored head shave. Funds raised from Heritage’s sponsorship of the Darwen Dashers ½ marathon. Phil cycled solo on his factory to factory challenge from Trimfold Envelopes in Ireland to Heritage in Blackburn, and Richard Lucas took a leap of faith with his free-fall skydive.

Of course, thanks also goes to everyone who supported these events, not just for their valuable donations but also for support in making these events happen, such as the repro department producing posters to promote various activities, from cake baking, raffle prize donations and collecting of sponsorship and donations to keeping tuck-shops stocked up – everyone has embraced the opportunity to support in one way or another. What really is clear is, this fund-raising activity has encouraged valuable collaboration between colleagues throughout the company for the benefit of local people and charities.

Well done everyone!
